‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 9, episode 8 preview: The Kandi Burruss – Phaedra Parks drama continues
Tonight, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” didn’t exactly do too much when it comes to bringing the story forward across many different avenues, and that included some of the drama that we had with Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss. It started off courtesy of some comments from Mama Joyce about the “bomb threat” that took place recently, and things only got worse courtesy of some of the comments that were made at the meet-up during tonight’s episode.
If there was a quick way to sum it up, it’s with this: Clearly, Kandi wanted to hear something from Phaedra to make her feel as though she wouldn’t push the issue further; meanwhile, Phaedra wanted to hear from Kandi something that showed that she wasn’t just taking up whatever perspective that her mother had for the sake of doing so. Ultimately, the best way to look at this is as a prime example of two people who just can’t and won’t agree. Remember the days when they were close friends? Well, those days seem pretty long gone at this point.
As for where the show is going to go from here, let’s just say (via tonight’s promo) that a rumor about what Phaedra was up to while still technically with Apollo Nida is going to spread, and be ultimately pinned on Kandi. We don’t know if that’s necessarily true, but it’ll be discussed — and will eventually lead to another blowup between the two ladies. Apparently, this is going to be a tradition for much of the season moving forward.
As for what else is going to be happening in the episode, let’s just say that at some point, people are going to be running around topless — there’s a larger reason for it surely, but that’s clearly not what the show wants to be focusing on for the time being.
Here’s the rough news: This episode won’t be on the air for a rather long time still. Because we have Christmas and New Year’s Day coming up, it’ll be a while until we get the show back.
