‘Girl Meets World’ season 3: Sabrina Carpenter on final episodes, waiting for renewal news
“Girl Meets World” is still on hiatus until the new year, and unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though the Disney Channel is going to be sharing the news on the show’s future until the new year. Despite anything that you’ve seen elsewhere, the current status remains the same: A holding pattern. Maybe the network wants to see how the show fares in its final airing this season before making up their mind, or maybe they know and are waiting on making some sort of grand announcement.
All we can say for certain, at least for now, is that the cast remains in the dark as much as anyone. Speaking to M Magazine at the Z100 Jingle Ball event recently in New York City, Sabrina Carpenter (who plays Maya Hart on the series) made it clear that, rather sadly, she’s still waiting on answers just as much as everyone else is. She did at the very least have a statement to pass along to the fans:
“[The fans] they’re amazing. If I had an update, you would know … I don’t have any updates but we are so excited because we have an incredible few last episodes that are coming and you guys are going to love them, there’s a lot in store. We love you guys so much and thank you just for supporting the show and everyone you guys have done. You’ve given this whole show such life for this new generation so we appreciate it.”
The final three episodes are “Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen,” “World Meets Girl” (some sort of episode geared around taking questions from the audience), and then also “Girl Meets Goodbye,” a potential series finale that will feature cameos from a wide array of different people who were a part of the show over the years. We’ve said this a few times now, but we do think it’s only right for the network to announce one way or another the show’s fate before the finale airs so that there’s not that sense of lingering uncertainty. If it’s the end, then we can watch it with that expectation in mind. If there’s more, then there is something else to be looking forward to.
