‘Vikings’ season 4, episode 14 preview: Ragnar, Lagertha, and a few surprises
Tonight, History is airing the latest episode of “Vikings,” and this is one that promises to be dramatic given what we are going to see from Ragnar and Ivar as they start to head toward King Ecbert. The two are in a pretty desperate state at the moment, so are they going to be able to find a way to climb out of it?
Well, the reality here is that Ragnar is the sort of character that you can never completely write off, given that someway and somehow, he finds a way to emerge from the rubble … even though there is a lot of rubble to try to emerge from at the moment. The next new episode is entitled “In the Uncertain Hour Before the Morning,” and we’re going to see him in an interesting place. He and Ivar killed their entire raiding group, and they have surrendered themselves to King Ecbert. Ragnar has used a device like this before to get inside walls he can’t penetrate and it looks like it’s going to work again, only this time he has just Ivar with him instead of 6 vikings carrying him in a casket. Is Ragnar going to get his revenge and is Ivar going to be his secret weapon?
We also saw Lagertha invade Kattegut tonight, but the face off between her and Aslaug hasn’t happened yet. The preview shows us a bit of that face off where Aslaug reminds Lagertha that she never took Ragnar from her, Ragnar chose her. With Aslaug’s sons gone and an army at her front door, all she can do is reason with Lagertha, but this is a moment of revenge against Aslaug that she has dreamed of for a long time.
Synopsis (via TV Guide) – “Lagertha is near realizing a long-held ambition; Ragnar acquires a surprising concession from King Ecbert.”
If you do consider yourself a Lagertha fan, this sounds like the episode for you! We saw her back in battle tonight doing what she does best and next time we will have that confrontation we have all been waiting for.
