‘This Is Us’ actor Sterling K. Brown celebrates two SAG Awards nominations in heartfelt message

Sterling -If you ever wanted further evidence that Sterling K. Brown is an amazing actor and an amazing person, all you have to do is check out the Twitter video below.

Earlier today, the actor received a pair of nominations following two separate SAG Award nominations — one for “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story,” and another for “This Is Us.” This led to him posting the video, where he tearfully explained how humbled he is to not just receive these particular nominations from his peers, the people he’s worked with the most over the course of what has to be the biggest year of his life. He’s already received a great deal of attention for playing Christopher Darden on the FX limited series, and while “This Is Us” is still very much a series still in its infancy, it is a show that is well on its way to becoming one of TV’s biggest hits. It already is the top-rated new show on any of the broadcast networks.

For those of you who are at work and cannot watch the video, here’s a quick transcription of what he says:

“Thank you so, SAG-AFTRA, for recognizing my work twice in categories that aren’t supporting and lead, but just actors. I love what I do so much, and to be recognized by my peers in this way is very difficult for me to process right now, but also very, very humbling and very, very cool. I love you actors; I love spending time with you and getting to know you. I thank you for recognizing me.”

What is remarkable about Brown’s comments here are that they come after such a successful run already, and it shows further that this is not a man who is letting so much of his recent run of success alter who he is as a person.

“This Is Us” will return in January with new episodes, for those curious. It you haven’t had a chance to check it out, we recommend that you do so over the course of the holidays.
