‘This Is Us’ casts ‘Longmire’ favorite Adam Bartley

This Is Us -Is there someone in the “This Is Us” casting department who really loves “Longmire“? We’re starting to wonder that based on some of the NBC series’ castings. We already knew that the show had Gerald McRaney, otherwise known as Barlow Connally, on board; now, they’re adding none other than The Ferg a.k.a. Adam Bartley to the list.

Sources confirm that Bartley is going to appear on an upcoming episode of the show (all of them will air before March, which is around when the final season of “Longmire” will film) playing the part of Duke, a man who works at a horse stable and ends up bonding with Kate during a particularly trying time in her life. We do know already that she has a trying time on her plate courtesy of what happened in the winter finale, where the character of Toby suffered a heart attack in the midst of a Christmas celebration after fighting to win her back. His fate, at least for the time being, is being left up in the air, and could be further highlighted further when the show returns in January.

This is the second bit of “This Is Us” casting news that was announced this week; we also learned that Alexandra Breckenridge of “The Walking Dead” will also be cast in the role of a childhood friend of Chrissy Metz’s character. The show bounces around so much in the timeline that it’s almost impossible to say if these people will turn up in the past or the present.

As for Bartley, he’s turning out to be rather busy at the moment, given that he also recurs on “NCIS: Los Angeles.” The final season of “Longmire” presumably will air on Netflix in the fall, but it is a little bit early at the moment to have much more in the way of news all about it.
