‘Pitch’ season 2: Do you want to see Kylie Bunbury series return for more?

Tonight, “Pitch” ended its first season with a story that certainly contained a few somewhat-somber notes. After all, we’re not sure how else you are going to describe a story that left the character of Ginny injured. She was right on her way to her first ever no-hitter, but in the end she found her way to getting an MRI.

Now, we’re stuck on a MASSIVE cliffhanger, and it is not entirely clear whether or not there is ever going to be resolution for that. Do we want to see the show return for more new episodes in the future? We know that the answer to that is a yes. Yet, at the same time, we’re not sure that the ratings at present really justify the show ultimately coming back. To date, the show has averaged in total a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which wouldn’t be bad if the show was airing on The CW. Yet, this is Fox, and with that, expectations are higher. Bringing the series back for more is also a little bit of a risk since there is going to be such a long hiatus between season 1 and any potential season 2.

If a second season does happen, there is certainly quite a bit of drama still left to explore given that we’re just starting to get to know these characters, and there are always plenty of stories that you can talk about when it comes to baseball. For example, there is the role of the media, disputes over game-time, and trying to handle the sudden fame that comes with it. When you are someone like Ginny and you are making history thanks to your mere presence, you almost have to figure that all of this is going to be amplified to another level.

Do you think “Pitch” should be renewed now for another season?
