‘Arrow’ season 5 winter finale: Stephen Amell on Katie Cassidy surprise
Are you still reeling from the midseason finale of “Arrow“? If you answer that question with a “yes,” then odds are you are a normal, sane person. This episode was crazy with everything that Prometheus did, but at the same time, the closing seconds with Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance turning up are what truly broke social media.
While we don’t have any information, we have a hard time believing that this is just a hallucination. After all, the news broke earlier this year that Cassidy was going to be a series regular across the entire CW universe, so we have to imagine that she will have more appearances under her belt coming up in the near future. Maybe they won’t necessarily be appearances on “Arrow,” but they are still important nonetheless.
In speaking about the closing minutes in a Facebook live chat, Stephen Amell offered up the following tease:
“People don’t just come back from the dead. Obviously there will be some sort of vetting process … We delve into that when we come back in the New Year.”
Meanwhile, Stephen added that this was one of the first scripts that he’s read in a long time that “freaked him out.” Basically, we do think that the show set up a series of the greatest cliffhangers that we’ve seen in a long time, given that Prometheus’ endgame seems to be so much different than any other villain we’ve seen on the show over the years. He wants to destroy Oliver Queen, but he wants to go about it in a different way that apparently includes trying to destroy him from within.
New episodes of “Arrow” will return this January to The CW.
