“This Is Us” is one of the biggest revelations of the fall season, and as a result of that, it certainly is nice to see that it’s the sort of show many talented people want to be a part of. There’s almost an impact here similar to “Empire” first came on the air, and you heard frequently from people who wanted to be a part of it in any way.

Today, the specific news that we’ve got pertaining to “This Is Us” is that Alexandra Breckenridge will be taking part. Per a new report from TVLine, the “Walking Dead” alum (RIP Jessie, Alexandra resident and short-term Rick Grimes love interest) is going to be playing Sophie, a childhood friend of Kate’s who turns back up in her life in some unknown way. She will recur on the series, so odds are you will get a chance to see her on multiple occasions.

Kate’s journey so far on the series has shown itself to be an emotional one, and one that started when she was much younger and struggling with her weight. In the present timeline much of her journey has revolved around her finding way to improve the quality of her own life, and that includes her recently making a decision to have weight-loss surgery. We’ll see if that decision actually holds as we move forward into the season.

Some of Breckenridge’s other TV credits include the first season of “American Horror Story” (shouldn’t she get a chance to appear there again), “Dirt,” and also multiple episodes of the criminally-underrated “Life Unexpected” over on The CW.
