‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ episode 12 promo: A double elimination; Coach in disguise!
The first notable thing regarding the latest promo for Wednesday night’s “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” below is that there is going to be a double-elimination coming up. Also, this is coming about as a result of two tribal councils. Nobody’s apparently getting medivaced or quitting. There’s going to be a lot of ground to cover in a rather-short period of time.
If you’re upset about having to speed through two eliminations, it’s understandable, but at the same time the same goes for CBS wanting to cast twenty people on this season. There were only 18 on “Kaoh Rong,” and three of them were evacuated. As a result of that, there were some dud episodes in that season where someone left the game and not a whole lot else really happened. It’s reminiscent of when Joe Dowdle was elimination from “Survivor: Tocantins.” Did CBS really want to risk that again if someone decided to eat too much meat at a reward?
Just in case you’re also wondering why in the world we are bringing “Tocantins” into this beyond our personal love of this season, that answer is also clear: Coach is coming back! Well, not literally. Judging from the fact that this coming episode is titled “Slayed the Survivor Dragon,” someone is clearly doing a little bit of meditation and building a Warrior Alliance, no? Will the forge a walking stack and proceed to move around the camp with it? Who’s going to be the assistant coach? Does this also mean that this person will be voted out a couple of tribal councils before the end of the game? So many questions!
Admittedly, there’s probably a part of us as a writer who finds Coach an amazingly ridiculous character and wants to include his ghost in this season in any way possible; as fantastic as this cast is, Ken is probably the closest thing we’ve got this time around to a Coach with his particular value set and differing perspective on just about everything in opposition to the remaining players in his tribe.
Strategically, the linchpin in Wednesday night’s upcoming episode is Will, given that he is the person who wanted to make the big move to send Zeke out of the game. Players may have tolerated being at his mercy for one week given that Zeke was an enormous strategic / social threat; they’re not going to be so willing to do that if it becomes a pattern.
Speaking of Zeke, we suggest that before you go, you check out our exit interview from him earlier in the week. Until next name, fellow warriors! (Photo: CBS.)
