‘Pretty Little Liars’ series finale: Did Ashley Benson figure out ‘A’s’ identity before filming ended?
The series finale of “Pretty Little Liars” is not going to be coming up on Freeform until the spring, and that’s a really long time to wait. Not only that, but it’s also a really long time for everyone to hold onto the secret as to precisely who “A” really is. We know that they’re capable of it, but we have to imagine that it’s rather tricky to go anywhere and be peppered with the question a million times. It’s probably similar to when the cast of “The Walking Dead” faced a near-constant peppering of questions regarding what happened to Negan.
What’s somewhat fun about the series finale of “PLL” is that you’re finally going to learn the identity of Uber A, and the person really behind everything as of late on the show. However, some of the show’s cast members took it upon themselves to play sleuth, and to figure this out somewhat in advance. Speaking to The Huffington Post in an interview that also included a discussion on Giving Tuesday, Ashley Benson had the following to say about it:
“I think everyone kind of knew who ‘A’ was before we shot the finale … I think everyone kind of asked around and found out … I’m very impatient and I love to know everything so, I had to figure it out.”
We certainly hope that the reveal ends up proving to be satisfying, but we think that the one piece of advice we’d really offer up to people on this subject is to enjoy the series more so for the journey than anything else, given that it’s impossible for everyone to be happy with the way that it ends. Don’t let your overall enjoyment of the product be results-oriented, and remember the fun you had along the way. Hopefully, the finale will be the icing atop the cake, but you never quite know in advance.
