‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 spoilers: Sophie Turner sets up Sansa’s arc

Game of Thrones

How’s the view at the top? While we’re not quite sure that “Game of Thrones” season 7 will feature Sansa Stark peering over from the tallest tower onto the commoners below, she’s got a higher position of power than she’s effectively had at any point in the series to date. Following the Battle of the Bastards, Jon Snow is now King of the North; not only that, but she’s a trusted adviser and is probably the more socially-savvy of the two of them. We’re not sure we’d call her the de-facto queen, but doesn’t it feel like she’ll have a lot of say in what he wants to do? We’d certainly say so.

Given that Sansa is so young, it does feel normal for her to let a little bit of that power get to her head — at least for a time. Sophie Turner says such in a chat with Entertainment Weekly setting up everything that is coming up in the weeks ahead:

“She’s seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her … She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip. But she’s also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds.”

As for the story around her, she made it clear that what excited her the most about this story was the feeling that “[the] main characters are coming together and it feels like things are ramping up … [It] all feels like it’s coming to a big conclusion.” We absolutely believe that this is true; there are probably going to be some enormous battles through season 7, but most likely some will be stored until the eighth and final season airing in 2018.

There may not be too much out there about season 7 at the moment, but if you head over here, you can see some analysis of a photo or two that surfaced during a recent HBO tease! Let’s just say that at the very least, we’ve got a familiar character in a new place moving forward. (Photo: HBO.)
