‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: ‘New worlds’ and much more in winter finale
Tonight’s new episode of “Once Upon a Time” is going to be setting the stage for the winter finale, which we imagine is going to be a series of interesting showdowns that in part resolve some of the story of this season, while at the same time also setting the stage for everything that is going to be coming up next in the new year.
While we do get the sense that the second part of this season is going to be much more connected than many of the other half-seasons have been as of late, that doesn’t quite mean that we’re going to get the same exact story in the same exact place. The following quote from executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz to Entertainment Weekly does make it clear, at least to us, that we’re going to be transporting off to somewhere new:
“In a season that’s seen a returning Evil Queen, a Savior in crisis, and a renegade genie all facing a dire prophecy, hope returns to Storybrooke in the form of a magical wish … But of course, like all magic, it comes with a price — and this price upends the world of all of our fairy tale heroes and villains as they are thrown into an adventure involving new worlds, old loves, and an impending destiny that can no longer be ignored.”
For the most part, our reaction to this is excitement, especially since there are photos out there already of Emma dressed more as a princess and Henry dressed in some sort of armor. Are we jumping into an alternate-timeline where Snow and Charming never had to leave the Enchanted Forest, or is some magic bringing them all back there now? Both are interesting questions, so we’ll see what happens when this show eventually airs.
For now, we’ve still got another episode to get through! Head over here to check out the latest sneak peek for the winter finale. (Photo: ABC.)
