‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’: The final four words and what they mean

Gilmore Girls -

Before we venture any further into this particular story, let’s start this off with a MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING: If you haven’t watched all of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life,” which is certainly understandable given that it’s only been out now for a matter of hours, you probably shouldn’t read this.

Also, if you are even thinking about watching the series, you should probably stop now, too, since this will ruin one of the most-anticipated moments in roughly in all of television this year.

Still with us? Well, read on.

“Mom?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m pregnant.”

That was it. Those four words concluded the series on Netflix, and they leave us at a point where there are just as many questions as ever, given that Rory is unsure as to who the father is, and her relationship journey is still clearly far from being over.

Is this satisfying? Well, that depends largely on who you are, given that in so many ways there was no way for this to live up to the immeasurable hype that has been around the show and this big reveal. We heard various of this as the final words, including one scenario in which the words were “I’m pregnant” and “me too” as though Lorelai and Rory would be going through this together. That’s not the case. It’s just Rory, and she is now at around the same age that her mom was when “Gilmore Girls” first began. It’s such an interesting full-circle moment for the series to leave at this place where there could be another Gilmore Girl or Boy entering the world.

What do you think: Was the ending of the series satisfying, and are you immediately craving more “Gilmore Girls” coming up in your life in the immediate future. Be sure to share in the poll below! (Photo: Netflix.)
