‘Gilmore Girls’ binge watching excuses, ‘Truth Is Stranger Than Florida’, ‘Frosty the Snowman’ holiday TV classics
Most Americans have recovered from their turkey induced coma. The morning after millions have eagerly rush to the stores to pick up a few items for those Black Friday sales. At some point this Thanksgiving weekend madness needs to end. On Friday night, after all the hoopla, you can make yourself a yummy turkey sandwich and sit down at prime time to enjoy a few holiday specials. In fact, if you listen closely (and tune into CBS) you will hear the voice of the late Jonathan Winters as “Frosty the Snowman” or if you flip over to ABC it is Fred Astaire who narrates “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town.” Yep, Christmas is right around the corner and the holiday specials are rolling out!
Perfect excuse to binge watch ‘Gilmore Girls’
Fans of “Gilmore Girls” are rejoicing. The latest (and probably greatest) episodes have hit Netflix Friday morning. What does this mean? You need a reason to blow off Black Friday sales and that dreaded lunch with the in-laws. Well, it appears some excuses are already made up and ready for use. Thanks to Netflix, it appears the only thing you need to do is put on the coffee and say hello to your couch. Let the binge watching begin!
‘Truth Is Stranger Than Florida’: Is this really true?
The “Truth Is Stranger Than Florida” series has me saying WOW! If there was a TV show title that was any more self-explanatory, I don’t know what it would be. This brand new true-crime series explores Florida and offers a look at what might not entirely normal in the other 49 states. I’m not sure how this is going to help Florida state tourism, but we should all turn in to see exactly why crime is stranger in Florida than say Michigan or Oregon. I always thought crime was everywhere. Now you can understand why I suggest checking out this new show tonight on Investigation Discovery. Viewers need to see what crime is happening in Florida and compare it to local surroundings to see if it is really that strange.
Watching the classic ‘Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas’?
As mentioned above, tonight is all about family TV holiday classics. Your family can watch “Frosty the Snowman” and “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” along with “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Sounds almost too easy, right? Well, that’s true! The only problem with watching these three specials is they are all on at the same time Friday night, but on different networks. Make sure you set your DVR to ABC, NBC and CBS at the beginning of prime time to catch these holiday classics! Make some hot chocolate and popcorn too! Watch all the holiday specials back-to-back using your DVD. The kids will appreciate your efforts!
And Finally… Florence Henderson, ‘The Brady Bunch’ actress, iconic TV mom
The sad news last night of the passing of Florence Henderson at age 82 had America feeling lost. After a day with the family, this unexpected announcement had fans thinking about “The Brady Bunch” and how Henderson offered a look at an American family. This TV mom was a hero to many, an icon to others and beloved by all TV fans. She was so kind to her fans and always made us smile. She will be missed.
