Are James Huling, Natalie Negrotti of ‘Big Brother 18’ engaged? (Update: Not so fast…)
Mrs. Carter: Is there some great news coming out this Thanksgiving?
While the remaining contestants on “Big Brother OTT” are spending their time celebrating Turkey Day within the walls of the famous house, one of the show’s most-famous romances of the past few seasons may be going to the next level.
In a post on Twitter (see below), James made it clear that he and Natalie Negrotti, who he first met on “Big Brother 18” earlier this summer, are now engaged — and that she said yes! The photo features the two right in the middle of the moment; the one thing that makes this photo even better beyond the proposal are the wide array of different reactions around them. For some reason we love the guy having a drink in the background almost as much as the shocked / happy reaction in the front.
While we’re definitely happy for the two of them if this is true, we have one caveat we must mention: James does love his pranks. He’s famous for them! With that being said, faking an engagement seems like a bridge too far for him in the prank department, especially when he’s gotta know how much many “Big Brother” fans love this relationship. Also, more of his pranks tend to involve food / hygiene products more so than a ring.
For the time being, though, we’re going to assume that it’s true just because this is Thanksgiving (very far away from April Fools’ Day), and knowing James’ romantic side, this seems like the time of the year that the guy would decide to propose. Also, the two have stayed strong together ever since the end of the show, and to their credit withstood a lot of cynicism from fans out there who didn’t think that they would make this relationship work outside of the house. If they make it to the altar, they’d join Jeff and Jordan, Brendon and Rachel and Danielle and Dominic as prominent “Big Brother” couples.
Update: So much for that! We’ve now seen Natalie refer to the event on Snapchat as “her best prank ever.” So, do we rescind the congratulations now? What do we do? What was the point of all this? Hard to really say, but we do feel like the two have spent a lot of their goodwill with fans and CBS in the event they actually do get engaged down the road. Who’s going to believe them?
