‘Quantico’ season 2 winter finale preview: Is Ryan proposing to Alex?

After a week off due to the American Music Awards, “Quantico” is going to be returning to ABC with a very important episode: The winter finale. This is a chance to see whether or not Alex Parrish gets herself out of a particularly challenging position in the hostage crisis — and also to see what happens with her and Owen during the present after the interrogations we saw on this past new episode.

Now that we’ve said that, this episode could have quite a few romantic moments in it as well — including a surprise proposal! In the sneak peek below (via “Entertainment Tonight“) you can see Ryan Booth get down on one knee and offer up a marriage proposal to her, making it clear that she is someone who is worth giving up everything in order to be with. This includes the jobs with both the FBI and the CIA.

While this is wonderfully romantic and will probably warm the hearts of many ‘shippers everywhere, at the same exact time we figure that there is another important question to be pondered over here: Is everything as it seems? There are reasons within this show that we could end up giving us a fake proposal, in particular when it comes to the idea of trying to catch people off guard. Maybe the two know that they are being watched, and this is a way for them to make someone out there believe that their guard is down and they’re willing to walk away from all of this for the sake of each other.

Of course, there’s a part of us that wants to take this sort of thing at face value just because of the fact that we figure these two characters deserve happiness given all they’ve been through — we just know that there is a pretty good reason for us to be cynical given how many misdirects we’ve seen on this show over the years.
