‘Blindspot’ season 2 fall finale: Is Patterson or Borden dead?
“Blindspot” is a show that loves to execute big moves, and many of these said big moves often involve the lives of its main characters.
With that in mind, can you really be all that surprised at all by how the NBC show decided to end off the fall portion of the season? You really shouldn’t be. The fall finale tonight ended with seeing some crazy things unfold, and the big reveal that it was Borden who was the mole — not exactly a big surprise, but that’s okay with us. Sometimes, you don’t want to throw a big twist at people just for the sake of doing so. You want it to be grounded at least in a relative sort of reality.
The larger surprise was seeing the big shootout in the closing minutes, where it seemed as though either Borden or Patterson was going to be dead and buried by the end. However, that’s not necessary the case. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, all creator Martin Gero would confirm was that one of the two characters was shot. He also made it clear that no matter what happens here, if Patterson survives she is going to have a really hard time dealing with the fact that the guy she’s been dating has been working for the other side:
“It’s going to really shake her. We showed last year that she does not do well with dealing with things. She’s kind of an avoidance character. Should she survive, that’s something that she would have to struggle with.”
Given what happened with Patterson romantically over the course of the first season, we really hope that she has a chance to settle in and have a happier future moving forward.
