‘Bull’ episode 7 preview: Politics and a Marissa mystery
After a few weeks off of the air due to the World Series and then the Presidential Election, we are pleased today to be bearing some rather-great news: There is a new episode of “Bull” on CBS this week! You’ll get a chance there to see the story of a doctor with some absolutely terrible bedside manner. (That also happens to be the title of the episode: “Bedside Manner.” Makes sense, no?)
While there have been a few times this season where CBS failed to provide us with more details regarding upcoming episodes in advance, they were kind enough to do this for next week’s installment (which is also Thanksgiving week) for an episode called “Never Saw the Sign,” which is a title that serves little purpose other than making us want to sing the lyrics for “I Saw the Sign” out loud. Thanks, CBS, and also Ace of Base.
Take a look below at some of the first details for what’s coming up.
Synopsis – “As Bull assists a man facing vehicular manslaughter charges, he uncovers a connection between his client’s trial and a corrupt state assemblyman who would greatly benefit from a guilty verdict. Also, Danny and Cable team up to investigate why Marissa is suddenly acting and dressing differently.”
What makes the Marissa plot significant here is that this is yet another sign of the show starting to find its sea legs and realize that people know the supporting characters well enough to start to give them more to do. One of the trickier parts of this show in particular is that Michael Weatherly’s character (understandably) takes up a large amount of the screen time, and with that, it’s harder to become attached to anyone else. Over the course of the remainder of this season (we do have a full-season order here), odds are that we’ll continue to get a few more isolated tidbits when it comes to all of the different characters and their backgrounds. We want to care about these people, so they have to start throwing us some backstories at some point.
