‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: What lies ahead for Kara, Alex in midst of Maggie romance?

Supergirl -

While Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer may not be together on “Supergirl” season 2 so far, all signs seem to be pointing towards this becoming the case down the road. Both parties are available and open to the relationship, and the only thing that we see holding them back at the moment is the mere fact that Alex is still in the process of finding herself and figuring out her feelings. That time seems to be coming up sooner rather than later.

Obviously, coming out is a very emotional time for anyone, and judging from what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells TVLine, there may be a moment coming up on Monday’s episode where Alex worries that her decision to tell Kara about the relationship may have been a poor one:

“Alex and Kara (Melissa Benoist) have a little misunderstanding, actually … She thinks Kara might not be OK with it.”

Eventually, though, this misunderstanding should subside, given that Kara is a supportive person and she’s going to be very happy that she has someone else in her life. If anything, this will give the two even more of a bond since there will be more for them to speak about and discuss in terms of relationships. It’s a dimension that has not really been there for them much before, given that a large percentage of Alex’s life to date has revolved around making sure that Kara is safe rather than being able to claim a lot of happiness for herself.

Unfortunately, there are a few other things coming up that could impede further progress in the relationship between the two. For example, there are still many isolated threats, and then a bigger one at the center of all of it in Project Cadmus.
