‘Talking Dead’ spoilers: Ron Funches, Lou Diamond Phillips, David Alpert join Chris Hardwick
While we’re not entire sure what tonight’s “Talking Dead” is going to bring to the table in terms of having a presence from “The Walking Dead” cast, it may otherwise be one of our favorite lineups that we’ve had on the show over time.
Let’s start here with Ron Funches. The former “Undateable” star and our personal favorite comedian working today will be stopping by, which should also be a treat for many “@midnight” fans who first discovered him through watching that show. That’s where he and Chris Hardwick first built up a natural rapport, and it’ll be interesting to see that expounded upon tonight.
Next up, we’ve got an actor from one of our favorite shows in “Longmire’s” own Lou Diamond Phillips. This is his second appearance on the program this year, as he stopped by previously to help with a discussion for a “Fear the Walking Dead” episode. Obviously, the producers like what they saw from him there, since they are bringing him back for a show with a significantly larger audience tonight. We do like what Phillips brings to the table in terms of a real student of the craft of acting; plus, we still think he’d be perfect to play a “Walking Dead” character down the line. He’s gotta finish his time on the Netflix show first, though! It was just renewed for its sixth and final season.
For those of you who do crave more in terms of the behind-the-scenes insight, rest assured that you’ll still be getting that courtesy of executive producer David Alpert. We do like that the show rotates in some of its executive producers, largely because it allows for opportunities to get to meet an array of different people and perspectives.
