‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ preview: Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams housewarming drama
We’re only one episode into “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” this season, but one thing is already starting to become clear: There is going to be drama around every turn — even when it’s (somehow) unexpected. For the latest example, just look at the fact that Porsha Williams will be “surprisingly” turning up at Kenya Moore’s housewarming as a plus-one for Phaedra Parks. Even though Kenya didn’t invite Porsha on purpose, she must’ve known that Porsha was going to show up.
The reason that we use “surprisingly” here in quotes is because to us, it’s a shock that anyone is ever surprised with some of the stuff that happens on this show given that these women are all in the cast! If Lisa Vanderpump showed up at the party, that’d be a surprise to us, but Porsha who is a cast member on this show showing up to a party during filming is a shocker to no one. Regardless of their history, you know that producers are going to find a way to throw these women into awkward situations for the sake of drama! This show’s probably better at creating these dramatic situations than any other one in the franchise – that being said they are also the best at balancing it out with some really fun moments and not bogging it down with negative situations.
Now, let’s transition from drama to serious stuff, as the sneak peek below features Peter Thomas telling Cynthia Bailey that he chose not to call her following a medical situation. It shows where the two of them are right now in their divorce process, and it’s incredibly depressing — even more so than the actual HBO show “Divorce,” which is insanely depressing even though technically, it’s considered to be a comedy.
The synopsis below offers up a little more insight into what’s ahead:
“Another unexpected guest pops up. Cynthia is forced to deal with the impact her marriage has had on her daughter and comes face-to-face with Peter. Kandi and Todd juggle launching an Ace-inspired product line and construction of their new restaurant. Momma Joyce gets the rumor mill going about why Phaedra’s divorce is dragging on. Porsha plans a girls outing.”
