‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ season 7 premiere: Meet Dorit Kemsley, also Boy George!
So here’s a little run down of the new housewife: She is newly married to a talent manager named PK who manages Boy George (and has been living at their house for the past 2 years), she owns a swimwear company, she loves to talk about all the famous people she knows and she has an English accent that comes and goes at random moments. The first person Dorit was introduced to was Kyle and they hit it off right away, and she later met the rest of the ladies who loved her as well. This was really nice to see since we’ve seen how hard it can be to be the new girl on the block on this show. For us, we are still reserving judgement until we see more of her, but so far it’s a very positive vibe.
With Yolanda gone we thought that we wouldn’t hear the word Munchhausen ever again (or at least that’s what we hoped because we are seriously over that storyline), but it was brought up at a dinner as Lisa and Kyle discussed the Dubai trip and the fact that the two Lisas’ are still not talking over this situation. Thank goodness this discussion is fleeting and we can move into what we love about this show: The extravagance!!!
We saw Erika Jayne get a million dollar painting and a ring worth almost $100,000 for her birthday (spoiled just a little by her hubby). There was also Harry buying Lisa R. a brand new car for no good reason except that they are so rich they can do that.
Speaking of Erika’s birthday, she’s decided to have a lavish “Studio 54” bash for her birthday filled with go-go girls all dancing to her music. With Lisa Vanderpump and Lisa Rinna not really talking we weren’t sure how they were going to be at the party, but Rinna went right up to Vanderpump and said hello. This was about as civil as it got as the tension between them is still high – these two need to talk it out at some point. When Eileen and Vanderpump saw each other it was a little more icy and it didn’t really get any better between them as the night went on.
What we like about Dorit is that even though she is friends with Lisa Vanderpump, she is open to friendships with all of the ladies and isn’t prejudging anyone. That’s a really hard thing to do when you are close to someone and you meet the people that have hurt your friend. Dorit may be just what this group needs to come back together. Episode grade: B+
