‘Designated Survivor’ episode 7 preview: Will a traitor be Vice-President?
Are you ready to see some further drama from “Designated Survivor“? We sure hope so, given that next weekend’s new episode appears fairly destined to provide that. With an episode entitled “The Traitor,” how could it not? On the surface alone, this looks like one of the more intense episodes you’re going to see.
Synopsis – “When an American track-and-field coach heads to Russia, President Kirkman is thrust into a hostage exchange involving the CIA and the Russian government. Meanwhile, Agent Hannah Wells and Deputy Director Atwood’s investigation into the Capitol bombing uncovers information that puts Atwood and his family’s life at risk.”
Basically, what we’re looking at here is an episode that reflects the majority of everything that we’ve seen so far this season, and includes wondering who to trust, and on a larger scale, precisely if Kirkman will be able to remain President. He’s been able to survive in uncharted waters so far, but for how long will that last?
Promo – Now, things get particularly juicy. What happens when you have to make a Vice-Presidential pick, but this person is someone working against the better good of the country? It’s really a race against time, but Kirkman in particular has to figure out if there is a way to protect himself from what is effectively at the moment an invisible threat. There’s no clear way for him to be made aware of this at the moment, so it’ll all be a test to see if that changes.
One of the other interesting storylines for the show in the weeks ahead is actually more of a meta-discussion: Will “Designated Survivor” remain popular in the wake of the Presidential election? Have we all had so much political drama, regardless of whatever party you support, that it’s now getting a little too difficult to bear?
