‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 episode order extended

Shogun -It looks like “Legends of Tomorrow” is going to have a little bit more time than previously planned in order to do its thing.

Today, The CW confirmed that they are ordering four additional episodes of the time-travel superhero show featuring Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, and Dominic Purcell, among others. This brings the entire season 2 order to 17 installments, which certainly isn’t a bad order for a show that had us nervous entering the season.

One thing that’s certainly helped the series so far is its performance. While we’ve seen ratings for “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and “Supergirl” slip somewhat as of late this season, it’s held a little more firm. Granted, it is still down in the key 18-49 demographic versus the other shows in the Greg Berlanti superhero universe, but at the same time it’s holding its own rather well and retaining much of its week-to-week audience this season.

In the end, this is worth of celebrating! It’s also a testament to the higher quality of season 2 so far, as people who are watching this show are clearly enjoying it and sticking with it after a fairly uneven first season on the air. The writers are doing right by the fans, and coming up with a way to integrate the heroes and villains better than in season 1. Sure, the rules of time-travel here make little to no sense and it’s extremely liberal when it comes to working through the timeline, but it’s fun and incredibly entertaining. With a show like this, we don’t expect much else.

For those who may not remember, the other CW superhero shows are all going to have at least 22 episodes this season.
