‘The Blacklist’ season 4, episode 8 spoilers: Be prepared for key Mr. Kaplan decision
While the tale of Mr. Kaplan on “The Blacklist” is certainly not the biggest story playing out at the moment, this does not take away the fact that it remains one of the most interesting parts of the overall narrative. We’ve seen her (almost) die, just as we’ve seen her find a temporary home and receive some level of care. It’s certainly unorthodox, but she is still alive — and her future could end up being an incredibly interesting one given that there is not a wide degree of clarity regarding precisely how it is going to pan out.
Moving into the final episode of season 4 to air in 2016 (a.k.a. the fall finale), executive producer Jon Bokenkamp described what is going to be coming up in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“That story, we kind of thought of that as its own little short film. It’s its own story that’s happening off somewhere in the woods and is sort of disconnected from Red and Liz and Kirk and everything that has been happening. So that story, again on its own, will come to a conclusion between Kaplan and this strange man played by Leon Rippy, who I think is great, that will come to a head and she’s going to be confronted with a big decision.”
Whatever that decision turns out to be should potentially shape the entire second half of the season. However apart she may be from Red and Liz at the moment, it’d be a dire mistake to make the assumption that she will remain in such a place forever. She may have revenge on her mind after what James Spader’s character did to her, especially if everything is as it appeared on the surface. We don’t always tend to be one to support the latest conspiracy theory, but this show does often inspire that level of hyper-paranoid thinking.
