‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 8 preview: Walter, Sylvester look back on Megan’s life

SCORPIONOften with television, we have a frustration when it comes to character death: The familiar face disappears, and then the show never acknowledges their presence ever again. In a way, we do understand it, given that you often don’t want to remind people too much of someone who is no longer around. This is probably especially true for a show like “Scorpion” given that this is for the most part a very lighthearted show, and one not altogether concerned with trying to make people feel down or bummed-out in any way.

With that said, let’s get to presenting some of the first details regarding next week’s “Sly and the Family Stone,” which will feature what is hopefully going to be a touching memorial for Megan, someone who clearly meant a great deal to both her brother Walter and also Sylvester, who loved her very much before her death last season — easily the most difficult moment for us of the entire series to date.

Synopsis – “When Team Scorpion travels to Ireland for Megan’s one-year memorial, Walter discovers that a nearby lake’s natural disaster has created a poisonous cloud that could kill everyone in the village. Also, Cabe and Toby try to alleviate the tension between Tim and Walter.”

Obviously, it would not be Team Scorpion were they not invested in some sort of life-or-death situation in the midst of a more personal story. Amazingly, there is almost always danger anywhere they go! These people really have a serious dose of some bad luck.

As for the Tim / Walter tension, we’re honestly surprised that Tim is still around on the show, but we’re happy from the standpoint of loving Scott Porter. This is the challenging thing with a character like him; we want him to be around, but at the same time we want Walter and Paige together. We don’t envy the writers, mostly because we’re sure that there are some difficult decisions they have to make here.

Coming out of tonight’s episode, the big news is going to be seeing what happens with Happy and Toby now that they can actually get married. Will they start planning the ceremony, or let things wait because she is not actually pregnant as she first thought?
