‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18, ‘Chicago PD’ season 4, and some episode-title changes
If there are two shows on NBC right now most in need of a variety of different programming notes, it’s likely “Law & Order: SVU” and “Chicago PD.” These two have become somewhat of one giant cluster-you-know-what for a variety of reasons as of late in terms of scheduling.
First, you had the two shows getting preempted because of a Presidential Debate. Then, you had them being preempted on Wednesday because of the World Series. “SVU” and its schedule are even more confusing because of the Donald Trump inspired episode “Unstoppable” being thrown about the schedule, likely for politically-motivated reasons. It’s been hard to find the order in the midst of all the chaos.
What we can tell you is that for both of the episodes airing this coming Wednesday, they will be doing so under different names than what was first planned.
“SVU” – The upcoming episode featuring Wyclef Jean as a guest star is now known as “Broken Rhymes.” This was previously known as “Bad Rap.”
“Chicago PD” – Meanwhile, the upcoming episode previously-titled “Skin in the Game” is now called “Some Friend.” This is the Olinsky-centric episode where one of his good friends, who also happens to be a former baseball player (played by “Zoo” actor Billy Burke), becomes invovled in an investigation when the body of a teenage girl (Violett Beane, “The Flash”) is found at his home.
We don’t think having a different name is going to change too much when it comes to either episode; our hope is merely that they are compelling, especially since we are starting to get near the end of the fall run for both shows and we want them to conclude on as strong a note as humanly possible.
