‘Dancing with the Stars 23’ spoilers: Mark Ballas to return during Derek Hough, Marilu Henner performance
We’re diving into Broadway Week on Monday night’s new episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” and of course the remaining pairs are going to have a great chance to perform some iconic routines. Of course, for one pair in particular, there will be a chance to do something special. For her performance in particular, Marilu Henner and Derek Hough are going to be joined by Mark Ballas, who is currently performing in “Jersey Boys” along with his co-stars Michael Lomenda, Kristofer McNeeley and Adam Zelasko. We don’t know if any of this will help Marilu stick around in the competition, but if nothing else, this should help to give her a memorable performance on the show.
Take a look at all of the dance spoilers below!
Marilu Henner & Derek Hough – Samba – “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)” from “Jersey Boys” – As we mentioned, Marilu will have some special guests during this routine. Unfortunately, none of them are probably going to explain how a samba set to the music from “Jersey Boys” will work.
Laurie Hernandez & Valentin Chmerkovskiy – Argentine Tango – “Cell Block Tango” from “Chicago” – We’re not exactly sure that we need to see a performance from a teenager to this song, but we’ll see what the show does. It’s not the first routine we’ve seen set to the song; Bristol Palin also did something many years ago.
James Hinchcliffe & Sharna Burgess – Jazz – “A Brand New Day” from “The Wiz” – Jazz is the best style for Broadway given that there’s so much freedom to just go out there and focus on the performance.
Calvin Johnson Jr. & Lindsay Arnold – Waltz – “Memory” from “Cats,” featuring a guest performance by Leona Lewis – This could be something truly special. It’s a wonderful song, and it probably makes it all the more wonderful that you have one of the best singers in the world performing it.
Terra Jolé & Sasha Farber – Charleston – “If My Friends Could See Me Now” from “Sweet Charity” – Terra’s bursting with energy most of the time, so on paper we definitely think that the Charleston is perfect for her.
Jana Kramer & Gleb Savchenko – Waltz – “She Used to Be Mine” from “Waitress” – We love the story of “Waitress” so we’re excited to see it get a feature on the show. As for the specific style, we don’t have much of a take.
One specific problem that Jana may have to overcome is that Gleb suffered an injury recently. You can read more about that by heading over to this link. (Photo: ABC.)
