‘The Walking Dead’ season 7: What lies ahead for Daryl, Maggie in episode 3 and beyond
This weekend, “The Walking Dead” will be taking you within the world of the Saviors’ Sanctuary, and for the first time, you’ll really get a deeper sense as to the kingdom of Negan. Suffice it to say, we presume that this is going to be a little bit different than the Kingdom, otherwise known as the home of Ezekiel where Morgan may actually have a chance to thrive.
Unfortunately, for Daryl Dixon he’s not going to be finding himself in a particularly good place. Speaking per Entertainment Weekly, Norman Reedus proclaims that we’re going to be seeing his character fed dog food by Negan and his cronies, and he’s going to be without much in the way of clothes. Basically, they’re treating him as though he is an animal, which is exceptionally gross. Yet, at the same exact time, we’re not sure if anyone expected something else from a guy who really is making a name for himself as a horrendous villain at this point.
While we cannot confirm that Lauren Cohan will be turning up as Maggie in this episode, rest assured that when you do see her again, she’s not going to be taking what happened to Glenn lying down. Here is what executive producer / comic creator Robert Kirkman had to say to the aforementioned website:
“If anything, this accelerates her trajectory … I think she’s always been a very strong character and she’s always been someone that’s been very capable, but I don’t think she’s ever been this driven. She’s definitely going to be out for revenge, and she definitely has a big motive here to try and avenge Glenn’s death. That’s going to be a huge source of conflict for her. Whether it derails her off the trajectory of the comic book story or gets her there faster remains to be seen. But there are definitely some interesting things coming up for Maggie.”
Maggie’s a fighter, and she will (natch) keep fighting. We have a hard time envisioning her being able to take down Negan in the immediate future, but we have to imagine that this moment could be coming for either her or Rick Grimes, someone else who feels a sense of responsibility over what happened and wants to turn it around, sooner rather than later.
