‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2, episode 4 video: Confederate zombies

LegendsSometimes, sneak peeks for a given show offer up chances to learn substantial bits of information about major characters on a show. Other times, it’s a chance to watch characters bash people’s heads in. For the latest clip below for Thursday night’s “Legends of Tomorrow” episode, we’re talking more about the latter.

In the video below, what Sara Lance and company realize upon arriving in the Civil War era is that the Confederate soldiers they are encountering are not exactly soldiers in the same way they existed in the history books; instead, a time aberration has caused them to turn into zombies. We know that this makes little to no sense at all, but at the same time we really don’t care because this is ridiculously entertaining. The show is starting to embrace that this season, and realizing that there is utterly no point of trying to stick to some defined mythology with a specific set of rules. A very small percentage of the audience cares about the mechanics of time travel so long as it is easy to follow along.

One other thing that we’re really enjoying? The emergence of Caity Lotz as the defined “star” of the show. We know that this is an ensemble series, but it is important to have a defined point of view. Sara’s a character over time that has come into her own, and she’s got a little bit of the hardened past of an Oliver Queen with some of the hope for the future of a Barry Allen. She’s able to bring several different dimensions to the series, and she’s got the richest backstory out of anyone in the cast.

Now, let’s just hope that she and the crew can take some Confederate zombies down Thursday night, while also finding some answers regarding both Rip Hunter and what happened to Rex Tyler.
