‘Arrow’ season 5 bringing on board Talia al Ghul with ‘Continuum’ alum
Given that “Arrow” already has both Ra’s and Nyssa al Ghul in the family already, it only made sense that we’d be seeing Talia eventually. She’s arguably far more famous in the comic world than Nyssa, especially when it comes to fans of the Batman comics.
Now, we’ve learned that this is finally going to happen, and that Lexa Doig of “Continuum” and “The 4400” fame is being brought forward in the part. As for how she’ll fit in with the remainder of the story, that’s what we are waiting to now figure out. We’re definitely excited about the prospect of getting another member of this group on the show, but why bring her in now, so far removed from seeing Ra’s in a prominent role? We haven’t even seen Katrina Law on the show as Talia’s half-sister so far this season.
One theory we’re playing around with already is that maybe Talia is Prometheus in disguise, given that she could have a motive for targeting the Green Arrow. Otherwise, maybe she is someone looking to seize further control of the League of Assassins, though at the same time Malcolm Merlyn also is a persona non grata so far this season. We do at least know in this instance that John Barrowman is a series regular across all of the CW series, so he will have a role to play here eventually.
Given the timing of this casting, given where the show is in filming right now, odds are you won’t be seeing Talia until you roll around to the second half of the season airing in the new year. For now, there are plenty of other stories to get to in between Tobias Church and learning at least more about who Prometheus could be.
Speaking of which, head over here to watch a sneak peek featuring Prometheus from Wednesday night. (Photo: The CW.)
