‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 6 preview: Here’s when Grant Gustin, cast are returning for ‘Shade’

FlashTuesday night, “The Flash” aired the fifth episode of the season in “Monster,” one featuring arguably one of the crazier villains of the season. It was big, it was strange-looking, and it certainly could be feared. Also, we found out in here that Julian Albert really doesn’t like meta-humans, H.R. is coming to Earth-1 with some secrets, and we had backstory galore when it comes to Dr. Caitlin Snow and her mother.

After an episode like this, don’t you want to dive into the next one right away? We certainly wouldn’t blame you, but the problem’s that there are a few different things blocking it from happening — primarily, we’re talking about the Presidential election. Due to that, the CW’s putting the show in repeats next week, and it will be back with “Shade” come Tuesday, November 15. In case that name rings a bell, it’s because Shade is an iconic villain within the comic universe, one who can manipulate shadows in addition to some other mystical abilities. We’re hoping that this is a sign that he’ll be turning up in some form soon.

Otherwise, get ready for a very important episode for Wally West.

Synopsis – “When Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) starts having dreams about being Kid Flash, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes he has to tell Wally, Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) about what happened to Wally in Flashpoint in order to keep him safe.”

Wally’s huge in the DC universe, and with that, we gotta think that the show’s only going to wait so long before bringing Kid Flash into the forefront here. The longer they put it off, and the more atypical it will be. This is a show that doesn’t like to draw things out. They only waited a year before diving into Killer Frost / Vibe, we’ve already seen Jesse Quick, and Harrison Wells has existed within several different forms already.

Promo – The good news here is that Wally is getting these powers! The bad news is that it looks like Alchemy could be involved. Remember him? It’s been a while since he last reared his head / mask / whatever you want to call it. No real sighting of Shade for now, sadly.
