Is ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ season 2, episode 6 new tonight, and what’s behind the delay?
Tonight, the bad news just keeps pressing on for viewers of many of your favorite CBS shows. Alas, there is no new episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” coming on the air, even though we’d absolutely love to see it happen.
So what’s the issue behind this not happening this time? It’s the same as what’s befallen some other CBS shows including “NCIS” proper and “Bull” for the week: It’s all about baseball. While there was originally scheduled to be an episode airing tonight — there were even some previews for it released over the weekend — the network’s done an about-face because the World Series featuring the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians is still going on. They don’t want to air against that, and it’s hard to really blame them given that it’s going to get enormous ratings; plus, many Cubs / Indian fans are probably also fans of this franchise.
Due to the Presidential election taking place next Tuesday, you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer for “New Orleans” to turn back up. Think in terms of November 15. At that point, you’ll get a chance to see an episode that in particular could give CCH Pounder some powerful material after Wade’s adopted son makes a decision to enlist in the military. There will of course also be another case at the center of the story.
We don’t fault CBS in the slightest for wanting to go in this direction, given that the World Series is such a ratings monster and you want to preserve your shows as much as possible. We just question the last-minute move, given that there are probably going to be many viewers out there who are watching / thinking that there’s something new coming on tonight. They’re about to be majorly disappointed.
Once there is some more news on this or any other “NCIS” series, rest assured that we’ll let you know!
