Is ‘Scream Queens’ season 2, episode 5 new tonight? A quick tease while you wait

“Scream Queens,” when it’s on the air, is a show with virtually no chill. they’ve gotten rid of Chad and Denise over their past two episodes, which almost justifies them changing their name to “Crying Queens” given that they’ve now taken away two of our four favorites characters from the cast. (For the record, our other two favorites are Chanel Oberlin and Hester.)

Here’s another reason to cry, unfortunately — there’s no new episode coming up tonight on Fox. At least this preemption isn’t a situation akin to what’s going on over at CBS, where they decided at the last second to pull their entire primetime lineup. We’ve known about this one for a while. The plan for Fox was to always air a new episode tonight if the Chicago Cubs – Cleveland Indians matchup was over, and if not, go with the plan of waiting until November 15. (Yes, there’s no new episode next week, either — blame the election for that.)

What we can tell you is that when the show is coming back on the air, it’ll be with an episode where the Chanels do their part to “recruit” some more patients … which we’re pretty sure is not the sort of thing that you ever want to recruit. Meanwhile, one patient will have a problem that leads to some unexpected-but-awesome side effects. It’s basically going to be right down the line of what you’d expect from this show and its own unique brand of crazy.

One final tease: The November 22 episode is entitled “Blood Drive,” which you can argue in one way is something that the show’s been doing from the very beginning of the series.
