‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 6 review: Bats and babysitting
Over the course of the past few weeks of “Scorpion,” we’ve seen a few big surprises including Happy’s pregnancy and her being married in secret to Walter. We’re getting closer to the end of the latter story in particular, but there were some other things to focus on over the course of Monday night’s “Bat Poop Crazy.”
First of all, Halloween! It was nice to see the team together for a costume party at the end of the episode, and we had just as much fun in the early going with Happy and Walter sporting a variety of costumes in order to create some fake memories to better ensure that Walter got his citizenship. The funniest part of this was seeing Cabe try to sell his sunglasses as some sort of actual thing as opposed to something he just put on a few seconds before arriving.
The main mission of the night involved bats. Specifically, we saw the team deal with resolving a crisis that could very well destroy the ecosystem. There was never a whole lot of danger through this from our vantage point, but at the same time, it was perfect for the holiday. Plus, we don’t need every single case to one that has explosions and chases and all of that sort of stuff. It was a little hard to see what was going on at times, but bats are such comical little adversaries in that they’re often perceived as far scarier than they really are.
If there was a negative to the episode, we’d say as someone who has went through the citizenship process before (at least on the Canadian side) that the majority of the investigations don’t involve someone showing up and interrogating you. That all felt like a little like drama for drama’s sake; Walter’s fate is still up in the air, mostly because of one little imperfection in the book. This is the cliffhanger now moving into next episode.
On the plus side, wasn’t it nice to see Happy prepare for being a mother with Ralph? We’re certainly thinking that way, even if she felt very overwhelmed at times. Grade: B.

I enjoyed Happy’s interactions with Ralph! She needs to realize she, with Toby, have the capabilities of becoming wonderful parents. It’s a learning process but one they’re up for… Happy may not know it yet, but she is.
