‘Supergirl’ season 2, episode 5 preview: The story for Melissa Benoist, cast in ‘Crossfire’
On Monday night, “Supergirl” brought us an episode that featured more of Alex and Maggie working together, the evolution of Mon-El as a new resident of Earth, and some more backstory when it comes to Miss Martian. The show does still have a villain problem, but they continue to do a good job having a variety of interesting, fun heroes that you want to root for. If that continues, it should still be fine.
Next week, we’ve got an installment for you entitled “Crossfire” that will sent Cadmus even deeper into the story than they’ve been to date, which shouldn’t surprise anyone given that they are the biggest thing to a Big Bad that we have right now.
Synopsis – “Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) must beat a ruthless new gang who has been armed with dangerous new alien technology. When Cadmus sends a video to the DEO, the team realizes Cadmus is the one staffing the criminals for a secret mission. Meanwhile, Kara (Melissa Benoist) gets Mon-El (Chris Wood) a job as an intern at CatCo, James makes an important decision and Lena (Katie McGrath) invites Kara to attend one her fundraisers.”
We’re still curious to see what Lena is going to offer when it comes to the overall story; she seems to be a regular, but for the time being, she is still firmly entrenched on the periphery. Maybe somewhere down the road we are going to see her either become even more of an ally, or a little more like her brother Lex Luthor than we first thought.
Promo – Is James Olsen looking to become a hero? We know he’ll be donning the Guardian suit soon enough, so maybe this is his origin story.
