‘Bones’ season 12: Betty White will make another appearance
We learned recently that “Bones” season 12 will be returning fairly early on in the new year, and we’ve now got some other great news to go along with it: Betty White is poised to officially return!
According to Deadline, the actress, who really needs no introduction to anyone at this point, is going to reprise her role as Dr. Beth Mayer for an upcoming episode. She is renowned as one of the greatest forensic anthropologists of all time, and the fun that comes from pairing her with Emily Deschanel’s Brennan is pretty amazing. Both are women who are incredibly skilled and capable in their jobs, and that in turn means that we’re going to see many clashes. What’s not fun about that? It’s hard to cultivate much of an answer.
While we know that White can deliver some serious work if need be, we do firmly believe that you’re not bringing her on the show unless the main idea is to allow her to shine in a more comedic setting. Therefore, we absolutely believe that this is the main purpose here. We’re going to have a chance to see her get some laughs, and bring some levity overall to a show that can be at times rather serious.
In addition to her stint as the star of “Hot in Cleveland” for many years, White’s also guest-starred on many other programs including “Community,” “My Name Is Earl,” and of course “Saturday Night Live.” Her guest-hosting spot there remains one of the best that we’ve seen on the show in the past several years.
