‘Teen Wolf’ season 6: Tyler Posey talks directing episode
While some have known this for a little while now, for those of you that aren’t in the loop “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey is directing an episode of the upcoming sixth and final season. The news was really blasted out for all to hear while at EW PopFest this weekend and we are sure that Posey fans are excited for him to have this opportunity.
Per Entertainment Weekly, many cast members were quick to praise Posey’s outing as one of the best ones of the whole season (which is some really high praise!). He responded himself to some of this chatter with the following message:
“I really love acting… but I really have a passion for this directing thing.”
It’s fairly-standard practice at this point for TV actors to eventually take a stab at directing during their stint on a show, and we understand why they would want to. It’s a chance to learn a new skill and flex a different creative muscle that could be rather useful as they start to move forward in their careers. After all, you have to think for a minute here that directing is the sort of thing you can do at any age and on age show; sometimes as an actor, there are programs out there that don’t have an opening onscreen for your look or skill, so being more diverse can help you continue working. Also, knowing how things work behind the camera can make it more helpful for an actor in front of the camera – it gives a better understanding to an actor of what a director is looking for.
This final season is going to air on MTV starting next month, and here’s to hoping that it proves itself to be a worthy goodbye to some of these people and characters we’ve come to know over the course of the series. We’re sure that it will make us rather emotional at times, but we feel confident that they will give fans a proper goodbye that we can all be happy with.
