‘NCIS’ season 14, episode 7 video: Why ‘Home of the Brave’ matters
We’ve discussed a few times now why we’re excited about Tuesday night’s new episode of “NCIS,” at least in terms of who is going to be appearing over the course of the episode in Robert Wagner as Anthony DiNozzo Senior. We’re still excited to see him back, given that it is a chance for the show to connect with its past while also giving us a small update on Michael Weatherly’s Tony Jr., who departed at the end of season 13.
Well, the promo below for Tuesday night’s new episode “Home of the Brave” gives us a little more insight why this episode is so important, and it clearly is for a number of different reasons. We knew that Nick Torres was going to make a risky move and break protocol, but before now we didn’t have a whole lot of insight as to precisely why. Now, we’re starting to figure that out a little bit more.
Apparently, this episode will feature the case of a young man who could face deportation over some of his actions, and it hits home for Nick given that this could have easily been him or anyone else he knows. This is a young man who, even in spite of not having citizenship, wanted to still serve the United States.
We certainly know that immigration is a hot-button issue in this country, and with that we’re hard pressed to imagine that “NCIS” is looking to take any particularly bold stance on it over the course of the episode. Yet, we do have a feeling that they will do a good job telling an emotional story that, if nothing else, causes some out there to consider some different viewpoints than they did previously.
Update: CBS removed the promo, as the episode has been delayed.
