‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13: Who else is in Alex’s corner?

So far, “Grey’s Anatomy” season 13 is one that has not been particularly easy for one Alex Karev. He’s spend most of it dealing with the aftermath of getting physical with Andrew DeLuca, and that includes everything from setting a court date to working at the free clinic, a far cry from his typically place of employment at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Thanks to his temper and his various frustrations, there have been several occasions already in which he has come reasonably close to being fired from his job since first making the move.

So right now, Alex is firmly in a position where he needs just about every bit of help that he can get. Based on their interactions on this past episode, it seems as though Alex will have the support of Amelia, who poured her heart out to him about a certain vulnerable moment of her past.

In talking about this moment further, and showing how Amelia could be there for him at a potential trial down the road, Caterina Scorsone had the following message to pass along via Entertainment Weekly:

“Clearly Amelia is starting to feel really safe with Alex in a way that’s unexpected … I don’t think she knew she was going to talk to him about her core trauma, and suddenly and unexpectedly he was this safe place for her to say something that she had not been able to say to anyone, including Derek. Now she’s seeing him as this potential safe place. I don’t know how the hospital will be divided, but I imagine Amelia has some pretty affectionate feelings toward Alex right now that he was able to witness her in her darkest moments and in this unique way.”
