‘The Fall’ season 4: What are the renewal odds for Gillian Anderson series?
Based on everything that is being said out there, tonight could mark the series finale of “The Fall.” It’s the last chance to see whether or not Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) can stop Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan) from having a future that is anything other than life in prison.
Now that we’ve said that, should it be the end? We should note that creator Allan Cubitt has stopped short as of late of proclaiming this to be the end of the road for the series, noting that there could be something down the line depending on how the finale ends. Personally, we’d be interested in seeing there be something further for the series, but we have a hard time envisioning it continuing with the same configuration of characters.
Specifically, let’s talk Paul Spector. As a fan of Jamie Dornan’s, we of course want to see him around the series for as long as humanly possible. Yet, at the same exact time we also have to recognize that for story purposes, we’re not sure how much more there is to tell with Paul. How in the world does he continue to be a part of this world? The longer he stays alive or out of prison, the more unbelievable it seems. This is why we wouldn’t be shocked if season 3 is the end of the Spector story.
If there is a season 4 someday, we wouldn’t be surprised for it to be years later, and focusing on a new troubling case that requires Gibson’s attention. We do know that Gillian Anderson is a very busy woman, given that she has potentially more “X-Files” on the way in addition to “American Gods” and some other theater work. Luckily, the nice thing about “The Fall” is that it’s a short season, and there will be opportunities to plug another six episodes in here and there if there is a story for them.

Stella is delightful to watch. Major girl crush on Gillian as I have followed her most lately on Hannibal and the X Files, and while she is one of those actors that basically plays herself in different settings (unlike, for instance, Daniel Day Lewis who BECOMES his characters), I find it fascinating to watch her on the screen. I can “see” that she is INTERPRETING her characters beautifully.
Honestly, the production values and cinematography on The Fall are top notch, and beautiful to watch and listen to, as the accents are a nice change from straight up British (addicted to British TV lol). This series is something I truly looked forward to. Watched Season 3 straight through when it premiered in the US on Netflix last night, which means I stayed up from midnight to about 5 am! I’ve not done that for any other series, not even Game of Thrones! Now that I think about it, I’ve never done it ever!
PLEASE! STELLLLLLLLLLAAA! Don’t leave us NOW!!

Since this series takes place in 2012(?) I could absolutely see a new Stella Gibson story years later that would be our present.
Something that doesn’t include women being murdered to stop the critics’ cries of misogyny. Something I, for one, didn’t agree with the critics on.
