‘Pretty Little Liars’ series finale: Who did Lucy Hale film final scene with?

We’ve made it clear over the past few days that “Pretty Little Liars” was in the process of filming its series finale, and we had a feeling that it was going to be an emotional affair. With that in mind, we are here to answer the question in the title.

It may surprise some of you that Lucy Hale did not film her final scene on the show with Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, or any of the other Liars. Instead, she confirmed via Twitter that it was none other than Chad Lowe, who plays her father Byron! Lowe’s presence on the show has been fairly off-and-on over the course of the entire series; sometimes he is around for the majority of the season, and at other points you only seem him here and there. There have even been some times in which we’ve wondered if Byron was one of the people responsible for the terrible things in this world, but those theories seem to have been debunked.

Lowe is one of many familiar faces you’re going to be seeing in the series finale, as you’re also going to have an opportunity to see many of the characters’ mothers. Meanwhile, Torrey DeVitto is also going to be returning as Melissa Hastings. We’re sure that some long-simmering mysteries are going to be resolved, and who knows? Maybe we’ll get a chance to see some love in the air, as well. While this may be a show defined at times by carnage, we do think that the producers will want to give the main characters happy endings to better justify the journey.

New episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” are going to air on Freeform once more in the spring.
