‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13, episode 7 preview: Amelia – Owen problems; is Webber’s job in danger?
This week, “Grey’s Anatomy” is telling a story about everything from job jeopardy to returning characters (Dr. Leah Murphy) to Amelia and Owen dealing with the aftermath of their pregnancy close-call. They were extremely happy just a couple of episodes ago, but moving into next week’s installment, it seems like the honeymoon period of their relationship may be over – this is pretty standard stuff for this show. Shonda never likes to keep people happy for long as she tries to keep challenging her characters.
Do we believe that the two of them are going to be able to work through their issues? Probably over time, mostly because we cannot imagine the writers wanting to put these characters through even more long-term heartbreak after all of the pain they’ve suffered over time. Yet, it’s going to probably take a lot of time and effort for them to get to that point.
Synopsis – “The arrival of a new consultant puts all of the doctors on edge, especially once she starts stepping on toes in the OR. Amelia and Owen bring their personal problems into the hospital, while April explores some uncharted territory.”
Who is this new consultant? It’s a little early to tell, but we’re always down for someone who is going to bring some more drama to the hospital … at least so long as nobody’s leaving.
Promo – This video raises a wide array of questions, especially when it comes to Webber’s job status in the wake of Leah’s substantial improvement since leaving the hospital. All of a sudden, there are questions regarding whether or not there is something wrong with the teaching being down at Grey Sloan Memorial, and this puts Richard in the crosshairs. Given Webber’s ties to Catherine Avery and his longterm relationship with Bailey, this could prove interesting moving forward.

That’s simple to solve. Have Leah make a terrible mistake. Who’s idea was it to bring this character back anyway?
