‘Bones’ season 12 premiere date official; here’s some of what you can expect
For those wondering when the 12th and final season of “Bones” would be premiering on Fox, wait no more! The network has officially released now the information, and it gives you a pretty good sense that there are many exciting times coming up for the drama.
Let’s start with the official premiere date: Tuesday, January 3 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. This will replace “Scream Queens” on the schedule, and be paired with “New Girl” and the new Kaitlin Olson comedy “The Mick.” This is going to probably be a tricky spot for the show, given that it’s up against “Bull” on CBS and also potentially “This Is Us,” depending on how NBC opts to air the remainder of its episodes in the new year.
Fox also revealed in a press release that the final season of “Bones” will feature guest stars from seasons past, a wedding, a serial-killer storyline, a lumberjack competition (will Dexter Morgan take part?), and the marriage between Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) being tested in some way.
In a statement (per Deadline), creator / executive producer Hart Hanson had the following to say about this show getting a chance to end on its own terms:
“From the very first season, Bones was called ‘The Little Engine That Could,’ so we could not be prouder of ending up as Fox’s longest-running scripted drama … And we got there because of an insanely loyal, loud, lovely, lively audience.”
No matter how it ends, you gotta give “Bones” some applause for a heck of a great journey, and continuing to deliver storylines that are at times fun, and at other times emotional and heartfelt.
