‘Fargo’ season 3 spoilers: Jim Gaffigan set to appear
“Fargo” has created a rather sterling reputation as of late when it comes to delivering exceptional casting; specifically, they find a way to book people you would never imagine in fantastic and unexpected roles.
For the latest example of that, you don’t have to look any further than what the show is doing with comedian Jim Gaffigan. He will be appearing on the show as Donny Mashman, an employee of the Eden Valley PD who works alongside Carrie Coon’s character. He is joining a cast that includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, “Halt and Catch Fire” star Scoot McNairy, and Ewan McGregor playing two different roles.
The wait for this third season has been particularly long, with one of the reasons for that being waiting for the filming conditions to become ideal. The show wants to have a nice wintry backdrop, and that’s particularly tough to do at certain times of the year. They want it to be authentic, and it certainly is going to be now. The show will premiere at some point in 2017, and has the challenge of matching the two very-excellent seasons that aired before it. Given that you still have Noah Hawley at the center of the work, we feel very confident that it will all turn out.
For those who haven’t heard, the events of this season will be a tad more contemporary than the ones from either the first or the second season. We feel like it’s possible that someone from season 1 could be turning up here eventually, but there’s no proof of that as of yet and the story is set in a different sort of community.
