‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: First photo of Caitlin Snow’s mother!

At the end of this past episode of “The Flash” on The CW, we saw Caitlin Snow make a particularly chilling discovery when it comes to her becoming Killer Frost: Her hair and even her lips were starting to change color. Up to this point she’s been able to keep some of these powers under wraps, but it’s becoming progressively harder for her to do so. This entire process seems to be in part due to Flashpoint, but the precise origin of them is still not entirely clear.

As a result of what is happening to her, we’re going to see Caitlin become so desperate for information that she turns to someone she doesn’t necessarily have the best relationship with — her mother Dr. Tannhauser (Susan Walters), who is icy in a very different way. She hardly shows much care for Caitlin during their time together, and treats her more like a lab rat than she does her own daughter.

At some point, this whole process of trying to help Caitlin it turns into an explosive argument, and then from there it remains to be seen precisely what is going to happen between them. All we know is that sooner rather than later, Danielle Panabaker’s character is probably going to have to start to come clean to Barry and the team at STAR Labs about what she’s going through. In some ways, it’s rather surprising that she hasn’t already given that they are going to understand precisely what she is going through better than anyone else.
