Ratings: ‘This Is Us’ still defeats ‘The Voice’; ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ ticks up
How long is it going to be before NBC decides to renew “This Is Us” for another season? It absolutely seems like it’s something that could be coming up fairly soon with these ratings, especially since this show continues to be a surprise, and yet again was the #1 show of the night Tuesday.
Overall, the drama was down slightly with a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, but nothing to really be altogether concerned about. For the remainder of the fall season, we imagine that the ratings for this show will continue to be strong. Our primary concern here is moving beyond this fall and into the new year. Will the show be able to withstand any sort of significant hiatus? This is where we do see many numbers start to fall.
As for some other ratings from the day…
The good news – Over on CBS, “NCIS: New Orleans” (1.3) improved slightly, and may be the Tuesday warrior at this timeslot that they’ve been hoping to have. “No Tomorrow” (0.3) also stayed steady, and while this show is not a ratings monster by any means, it has done a reasonably good job of retaining everyone who watched the pilot and stuck with it.
The bad news – It was a pretty weak night overall in the ratings, given that “The Voice” (2.1), “NCIS” (1.7), “Fresh Off the Boat” (1.2), and “The Flash” (1.0) suffered either decent or small declines versus recent episodes. Some of the drops were small enough that they didn’t show in the rounded numbers, but they were still there. We wouldn’t say, though, that there is any reason to sound the alarm on any of these shows, at least for now, that they could be in some danger.
