HBO’s ‘Divorce’ episode 4 preview: Enter ‘Mediation’
We’ve got the fourth episode of “Divorce” coming up now on HBO in one week’s time, and we would ultimately love to say that things are starting to get a little bit better between Francis and Robert. However, upon looking at some of the new information from this episode, we’re starting to think that we’re going down a rough, rocky road for the two. After all, you don’t visit a mediator when things are going well and you’re planning to stick things out.
As referenced in the title of this article, “Mediation” is the name for the next new installment, and it looks like Frances is going to also be looking for someone to understand more of what she’s going through in a reasonable way.
Synopsis – “In hopes of keeping their split amicable, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) meet with a mediator. Frances confides in a co-worker, and Robert gets surprising financial news.”
Are these two going to actually be able to keep said split amicable? That seems tough, given that immediately upon learning of the affair Robert locked Francis out of the house and wouldn’t let her back in. There was some love there, but these are people who have clearly been through a lot, and neither one of them seems altogether interested in giving one of them a chance to take the upper hand, whether it be in terms of looking like the better person or being the better parent. Everyone wants to come across as the good guy, but that’s going to be hard to do when these two have the firm mindset of “make the other person the bad guy” throughout this.
