‘NCIS’ season 14 spoilers: Mary Stuart Masterson set to play new Leon Vance ally
For everyone out there excited to see more of Leon Vance on “NCIS” (after all, he’s had a fairly quiet season to date), the following could be music to your ears … or at least your eyes, given that you’re reading this on a website.
According to a report from TVLine, Mary Stuart Masterson (who has appeared on such other long-running shows as “Law & Order: SVU” and “Blue Bloods”) is going to be recurring as Congresswoman Jenna Flemming, as very intelligent and determined woman who gets things done and isn’t afraid to be really tough and hard on the way to making them happen. She’s going to forge a close bond with Rocky Carroll’s character in particular, though the specifics behind her playing an integral part in the show remain to be seen.
For Vance, having a friend in the right place could prove valuable as the NCIS team does its part to get as much valuable work done. It also comes at a time in which there’s already a rather-tremendous amount of flux among some members of the team. You’ve got Duane Henry now back full-time as Clayton Reeves, while we’re still getting used to having Wilmer Valderrama and Jennifer Esposito around. We do think the show is doing as best it can to handle the departure of Michael Weatherly, though nobody can adequately take his place completely.
New episodes of the show will continue airing on CBS Tuesday nights. The one thing we know here is that Masterson will make her debut during November, the time of year when network shows do love to bust out some of their best and most-interesting stories.
