Lizzie Velasquez’s story, ‘Hollywood Squares’ 50th anniversary, ‘DWTS’ prediction

Lizzie -It’s motivational Monday! Yes, it’s a good idea to be inspired and focused at the beginning of the work week. Check out the Lifetime Network Monday night to see “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story”. This brave lady has been the subject of online bullying as she was born with a rare syndrome which prevents her from gaining weight. Inspiring and strong, she has shared her story in this documentary and put the bullies in their place.  I first became aware of Lizzie after seeing her TED talk online and what I really couldn’t believe is how cruel people were to her. Turning her situation into a positive moment, she has decided to be who she is without allowing  words to hurt her. (Photo above via Lizzie’s Twitter.)

Mom’ star Allison Janney to get Hollywood star

If you love “Mom” or even “The West Wing” you should consider attending the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Allison Janney on Monday.  She is getting the 2,592nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and many of her costars – from current and previous shows – are expected to attend.

Jane the Virgin’ premiere: Fans on pins and needles

“Jane the Virgin” fans are freaking out about the upcoming season. The answer on the wedding night shooting is finally revealed. Dead? Alive? Tell us already! Frankly, this new episode has been so secretive that WikiLeaks probably gave up trying to crack it. Don’t worry, fans will finally have answers during the premiere. Suffice to say, I’m going to be on pins and needles all day! “Jane the Virgin” is on CW at 9 p.m.

Zombies will continue to be trendy in 2017: ‘The Walking Dead’ renewed

Zombies are trendy! I repeat, if you want to be a zombie for Halloween (or any other time) it’s still very cool because zombies still considered trendy on TV. The news over the weekend that “The Walking Dead” was renewed had living, breathing humans jumping for joy. Season eight will kick off in late 2017 and the fans couldn’t be happier. You can catch all the zombie action on “The Walking Dead” weekly on AMC.

Dancing with the Stars’ prediction: Latin night

Fans of “Dancing With the Stars” will grimace when another couple is cut from the ballroom this week. It’s always tough. And sometimes there is no precise reason for the elimination. This season has been especially harsh as DWTS fans get attached to a celebrity and the ax drops. Do I have a prediction? Of course! I know with almost 100% accuracy that Pitbull is going to heat up the ballroom on Monday with his performance. Oh, did you mean the DWTS elimination? Oh, come on. I don’t make predictions like that because I’d hate to be right…again.

And Finally… ‘The Hollywood Squares’ 50th anniversary

The TV game show “The Hollywood Squares” premiered on NBC only 50 years ago today. It was October 17, 1966, and the first host was Peter Marshall. Followed by Jon Bauman, John Davidson and Tom Bergeron. If you are like me, you probably aren’t old enough to remember watching the original series (hey, I’m only 29) then again you have might of watched the game show reruns over the years. There was something very charming about this iconic game show. It made way for other game shows and lasted for years.
